Amisha World Biography
Amisha Patel (born 9 June 1976) is an Indian actress who works in Bollywood movies. She was born in Mumbai.
Film star Amisha Patel would not have been involved in the ugly fracas at the Sahar airport recently had she been a little more aware of her illustrious heritage. Her grandmother is Sushila Gokhale Patel, who was a leading figure in the progressive movement in the sixties and a handicraft artiste. She is known for her portrayal of the history of the freedom struggle through hand-made doll-sized figures, now part of the museum Mani Bhavan. Sushila’s sister Godavari was a real fighter, much ahead of her time. She gave up a life of comfort and struggled relentlessly among adivasis with her husband Shyamrao Parulekar. They built a strong movement fighting police repression and exploitation by powerful landlords in Thane district. It is a pity that the timing of the Amisha incident should have coincided with the beginning of the birth centenary of Godavari Parulekar.
